When the work to develop it was being described, I couldn’t help but note the terminology the presenter was using – how science always finds a solution. It made me realise how we all trust in man’s intelligence and ingenuity; we believe we can always find an answer to problems.
But can we? “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man [and woman],” it says in the Bible’s Psalms.
Long term, there is only one solution to the problems the earth has got itself into – global warming, wars, famines etc – and that is God’s intervention to stop humanity before things get too far out of hand.
“Behold I am coming quickly and my reward is with me to give every one according to his work,” we are told in the last book of the Bible. For those who are not trying to follow Jesus, his return will be a time of trouble; for others, a time of rejoicing.
